4. Why did I choose this university programme?

For me, it was very difficult to choose a university program because I wasn't sure about what I wanted. In high school I used to enjoy all kind of subject but math, so I think this fact helped me to make a barrier and divide some programs. I knew that I will never study something like Engineer or Economy, so I search for programs like Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Education and History but any of them convinced me.

There was another barrier more than my hate for math (which now I think is very stupid because Geography has math and it is not that bad) which was my love for nature. I really enjoy being outside and go to different places like the beach or the valley so a program that involves excursions was my answer.

Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. It is important to understand the relations we have with our environment, specially when all the places we visit are affected by our actions and decisions.

I knew this program was not in my city and I knew that it would be difficult to go to another city but my family supported me. I chose Santiago because there I have family too and I chose the University of Chile because of its reputation.

Now, being a student of this program has been an amazing experience, I enjoy it.
